The&Partnership and BAT

 

In September 2020 The&Partnership was appointed to build a global in-house content agency for BAT’s new category products (Velo, glo and Vype). The appointment was driven by BAT’s desire for a new global digital partner to help them transform how they produce digital content to support the global growth of new category brands. This lead to the creation of Beat. Starting with a Global Studio based in London along with Local Studios located throughout the globe.

 

The&Partnership will be responsible for the end-to-end content framework, from setting digital strategies across social, CRM and web to content creation and global delivery. The newly formed Local Content Studio will be a fast moving ‘marketing newsroom’ building and adapting banks of creative assets, that are created, distributed, measured and improved in real time. The content produced will be for products that offer customers a greater choice of more enjoyable, less risky products and not for traditional cigarettes. The agency will play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of these new categories which reduce the health impact of the BAT business.

 

The role

 

The Team Leader is a crucial part of the Beat NWEA Studio leadership team, working alongside a Lead Creator and Senior Strategists operating across the UK, France, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in performance digital/social and content and instinctively think digital before all other channels. As a leadership team you will be responsible for a 20+ person content studio of performance digital/social and content specialists and take the lead in guiding the client through what will be a transformative change in how they work with their agency partners to produce digital content for their markets.

  • Own, manage and iterate the bespoke processes that drive the embedded &model for BAT (given these include multiple disciplines)

Skills and Experience required

  • Integrated marketing experience with a particular focus on performance, digital, social, content and CRM

We’re looking for a motion designer will play a pivotal role in the creative output of The&Partnership Studio. Working closely with the creative department and design studio, you will be the driving force behind our push to embrace motion in everything we do. You will not only inspire the creative department but ensure the highest quality output of motion is achieved. Nearly every brief now requires an aspect of motion design.

  • This role is a new role within the department so you will be expected to shape it and make it your own.

The role

We are looking for a candidate to help the team deliver projects end-to-end and drive our creative output forward. The portfolio nature of the Mars accounts brings great opportunities to work on multiple brands and campaigns, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable balancing multiple projects and priorities and who can build fast relationships with clients and internal team members.

 

The role will report into a Senior Account Director, supported by an Account Executive working with local, regional and global brand teams. Project channels are likely to include:

  • Social and digital activations to support ATL activity, including website, CRM and DCO campaigns
  • Always on in-market activities with a digital focus
  • Product launch campaigns across the full marketing mix
  • Developing new creative for established brands in new and existing markets

 

The successful candidate will work with strategy, creative and other stakeholders to support development of campaign activity and drive best practice development.

Strategy

  • Partners with strategists to drive the creation and exposition of great strategy

Key responsibilities:

  • Leads the day-to-day relationship with the client and gives clear, decisive and thoughtful direction on individual projects.
  • Liaises with client to discuss specific product/service to be marketed in detail and develops the most appropriate strategy to deliver the objectives.
  • Leads development of short term project briefs and is highly involved in the longer-term brand/marketing planning. Defines target audience and implements strategy through appropriate media planning work.
  • Thinks beyond the day-to-day to next 6 months and plans for longer term opportunities. Responsible for quality of output and efficiency of how account is run.
  • Brings strategic insight to discussions and can refocus creative teams and clients with strong persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Evaluates campaign strategy in light of sales figures, surveys, etc. and takes appropriate corrective measures if necessary.
  • Navigates through all the exciting innovation in the market to distil smart ideas of what the client could do beyond the day to day to make a different to their business. Stays abreast of changes in media, readership or viewing figures and advertising rates.
  • Develops a strong one to one relationships with both SBM and Marketing directors – holds their own with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Ensures resource is used efficiently at the right time and helps internal departments plan for what’s ahead effectively.
  • Solves most problems themselves but also highly effective at managing upwards.
  • Leads the agency relationship with other agency partners and meets with them regularly.
  • Understands social media and can help implement social media strategy for client brands
  • Meets financial objectives as set by Business Director. Identifies out of scope opportunities and negotiates project fees with clients where appropriate. Responsible for ensuring that agreed scope and fee align and will work with BD to adjust where needed.
